Would be a great engine for a Gremlin or Spirit! Won't fit the early American, but it would be a great econo engine for a 64-69 American too -- weighs about the same as the Commanche pickup. 
Unfortunately the bell and trans will only fit another Jeep four -- or a Chevy four or small V-6. Should be a T-4 trans, or an AX-4.

It's an AMC 4-cylinder 2wd 1988 model (Sept 87 build)
and it has the 4-speed manual tranny.  Anybody need
any parts?   What would the clutch/bellhousing fit?
It's really a clean truck.  Nice vinyl interior.  Yard
prices have gone up, so I can't be sure of the parts
prices.
