I wasn't thinking to clearly when I was speculating on why anyone might order AC in an SC/Rambler! But as you said, could have been dealer installed, though most likely someone else installed it later. The website Tom pointed us to ( <http://classicmusclecars.com/cgi-bin/swrm/alb.cgi?nhs=5&m=&k=&status=Investment&sb=> ) says 1,188 SC/Ramblers were A scheme cars. Where did they get that number? I'd always heard that there were no hard numbers, but speculation was that the cars were built in three batches of roughly 500 (with the extra 12 built for some reason at the end) and two of the batches were A scheme, one B (generally thought first and third were A). Any idea where the 1,188 number comes from?? Only 324 B scheme made??? ------------- From: Jock J JocewJ Jocewicz <namdra@xxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: [Amc-list] SC/Rambler: Clone or Not? The SC/Rambler came two ways only from the factory. "A" & "B" style. You could not order any options. Any options had to be dealer installed including a radio. -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AMC.html (free download available!) _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
