That's the kick down switch for the transmission. You can find a wiring

On my '68 AMX, which uses a bell crank and rod arrangement for the 
accelerator linkage, there is a switch mounted on the firewall 
bracket.  It appears that the plunger is depressed at near full throttle 
by a tab.  Two leads to it.  What is it for?   My first guess is something 
with transmission kickdown, but with no manual yet I am shooting in the dark.
