yup, that was one lump o' iron...  nearly as much as the powerstroke
6.9/7.3, i think.

D'OH!!!  iirc that was a 6-cyl ver [2.4L] of the vw 1.6 diesel.  a six
ver of the current 1.9 or 2.0 would be mighty!  and maybe they have
one, for their euro trucks.

the current e320d is a six, ~200hp.  dunno if it's inline, or v like
their gas sixes.  it has 5 and 4 cyl siblings, both offered in the
'dodge' [mercedes] 'sprinter' [hah!  157hp/8550lbs?] van which i've
seen all over in ups, fedex, and dhl trim.
