Javelin roof

Greetings, friends!

Got a problem I'm hoping someone's seen before. I recently acquired a 
'73 Javelin with a vinyl top. The top was rough and unready, so I 
removed it, to discover a serious cancer problem underneath. A lot of 
the upper sheetmetal by the windshield is gone; you can see the metal 
underneath that is the cockpit's ceiling. Anybody out there dealt with a 
similar problem that can give me some ideas?
