Thought I would weigh in on this.

In addition to my Machine and Javelin I also have a 71 Mercury Cyclone with 
a 429 bored out 60.
I kept fighting a cooling problem even with a 5 core radiator.  I tried all 
of the logical cures and eventually put on an electric fan.  One powerful 
fan was not enough but in a final act of desperation I tried a 2nd fan and 
now it cools beautifully.  My greatest fear, however, is that a fan motor 
will give out.
