Well, that was actually another case of buying a house in an HOA and then ignoring the rules they bought with the house.  There was a time when being an American meant your word was your bond.  No one forced the vet to buy into that neighborhood.

I hate HOA's and will never willingly buy a house in one.

And I fly all the flags I want.
