[AMC-list] more movie madness

Representing AMC (soley, but proudly) last Saturday at the car show in beautifuldowntown Taylor, Texas I got two flyers on my car from the samefellow/company.
The first was wanting period correct pre-1980 cars for a Richard Linklater film being made in Bastrop, Tx, for thesecond week in November, (though this week's rain mayhave delayed that).   The movie is 'That's What I'm TalkingAbout',  a baseball movie.
Pay was $125-$200 for parking car on set.
The second was his more offical handout describinghis company  Cool Car Casting.   The idea is you putyour vehicle on file with him, whatever year, make model, and he matches it for movie makers in Texas.

I was contacted a couple days ago about this by the car wrangler working the
movie.  Seems they did a DMV registration check for the Austin area, and I
was the only Pacer owner registered; even including the San Antonio area.
Hard to believe.  Anyway; I declined the offer -- IMHO my Pacer is too nice
to let an uncaring film crew mess with.

I did loan it to an Austin PR company shooting a body shop commercial last
year for just some static filming; and even that was scary since they wanted
the actors to lean on it with all their jewelry/belt buckles/watch
bands/etc., and even wanted to have someone sit on the hood for a shot!!
No way; Jose.

A movie company is looking for an AMC Pacer for a movie to be filmed in
November. The will pay industry standard daily rate. Your car will be needed
for one day.  Ideally a nice shiny one, factory looking and or maybe girly.
If you have a girly looking Gremlin or maybe Spirit the body style that
looks Gremlin ish may work...    It will be shot in Austin Texas.  I'm just
a third wheel  earning a background spot for my Gremlin... But if you send
my recent pic of car, I will forward it for consideration.  My Gremlin was
deemed too masculine, not a chic car.  First time I have heard that lol. I
wont post any phone numbers because I don't want guys from third world
countries posing as Microsoft calling to me about my computer problems.
