the skip white setup must be based on a stock chevy straight six hei.
this is a direct drop-in for the amc dist; all you have to change is
the drive gear.  i know - i've done it.

The conversion to the GM High Energy Ignition is worth doing.  I made the conversion on my 1983 Concord 258.  It solved the problem of the weak coil, and also fixed the goofy stepper motor problem with the BBD carburetor.  The two biggest matters you'll encounter will be bending the dipstick a little bit to clear the larger distributor and changing out the distributor gear.  Neither are difficult.  Just get a good, rebuilt 1979 distributor for a Chevy 1/2 ton pickup truck inline 6 and you're set.
