Correct, but those all 68 390 Ambassadors built after that date, believe to be Dec 67. Still quite a find!

The 390 wasn't offered in the Ambassador until 1969

Correct but sad & rarity does not equate market value. Still, imagine having a one of one AMC.

The same job could have been done on this Ambassador -- for a dollar investment of probably a quarter of what the AMX required.  Timewise, similar but probably a bit less.  At the end of the resto he would have had a $20k Ambassador and something no one else on the planet had.

This is true of wagons & four door AMC vehicles. You know for what it worth, there are a crap load of AMC vehicles built that were few made and chances are no longer with us, simply because they had unfortunate luck to have been built with a 390 or 401. Even back in 1970s these 'handful cars' were being cannibalized for engines the rest tossed. Fast forward to 2013 still are I guess.

This 68 AMC Ambassador is one of 19 made, and probably only one made in 
Matador Red with Red interior. Being parted out sadly although seller open 
to offers. Imagine back in the day getting your ass smacked around by a last 
year 'stacked headlight' red/red 390 Ambassador on the street. Car is in 
Ohio. Someone wishing to buy it I have a set of used core fenders cheap for 
sale. It is probably ONLY 68 Ambassador 2 door 390 left in world.

Front seats and center console are sold!!! No motor or tranny 68 Ambassador 
2 door car factory sst 390 car lots of good parts glass is good lots of good 
interior parts doors are solid pass. side has some holes on the bottom but 
the lip is pretty clean very savable, deck lid and hood are probably savable 
will sell as parts or whole car make offer on parts just want gone what 
doesn't sell is getting scrapped. the frame rails are rotted quarters are 
rotted at bottoms. roof is solid. open to offers and trades for 67 Marlin
