That is a hard order.  That is a one year only and a partial year only piston to be exact.  Finding an original one in good shape is a tall order but if anyone can find one, you will.  
 
Like we talked in the past, I would be very careful with cast pistons anywhere around the 10:1 range with the gas we have today.  I have pulled apart many 390 and 401s with cast pistons that have been broken.  The stock pistons are a little better than what is available today but still not suited or designed for lower octane unleaded fuel.  Back then, they had ethyl leaded fuel that had a much higher octane than what we have today.  Detonation in these older engines unless you have a quiet exhaust, is sometimes vary hard to hear.  Heat/detonation and cast pistons, bad combo.

Hey Gang,

I need 1 10 to 1 compression 1971 401 standard bore piston. If you have a whole set that&#x27;s fine too. This is the dome type. Email smokinamx@xxxxxxxxx or call 630-546-7253. I would like to keep te Javelin/AMX original. She only has 39,000 miles on her.
