I still think you may be better off building the mold out of fiberglass. It will take a lot more money invested in silicone and just as intricate of a mold frame to do it in silicone. Especially if the part has any size to it at all.

I guess urethane won't be on my list of items to make a bumper corner if it won't hold up to,well, bumping and such, but using silicone to make a mold, then go with fiberglass, which I have used, would be the next easy option. I don't think it was John Elle; I definitely remember the guy I was thinking of passing on. His last project, after an ORANGE Hornet, was a Matador(I think). He did a lot of model-making, too; talked about it a lot.
