I put a 232 pipe/filter nipple in my 95 4.0L block so I'm going to say, yes you can remove it. * I'm thinking there may be a strange washer under the nipple, kind of like a figure 8. * I have no idea as to what purpose it serves, none?* yes a socket or perhaps even a wrench will remove it.* You can have a machine shop turn the end of it off to shorten it? * I'm not 100% sure of if you can just put the nipple in without the washer. ****Little stars attempt at breaking up the formatting stupidity of Comcast.*** I doubt cooler oil will help your problems? *might hurt a bit if the expansion of some parts is reduced? piston rings? oil pump? no real idea on this issue. He tried, but said the threaded nipple for the spin on filter was about 1/8" too long. Before I screw up the one on my car, I plan on trying to remove the nipple from one of my junkers out back. I've checked the TSM, but other than a blow-up, I don't see instructions on removing the nipple. I'm assuming a deep socket, but will anything fall apart inside? Is the nut on the nipple adjustable so there's less thread sticking out? Is the nut U.S. or metric('82 model)? I'm trying to avoid the inevitable of have the engine rebuilt from way too much blow-by and low oil pressure; I figure cooler oil might help. Right now it seems to be monsoon season here, so I won't be playing in the yard today.... _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com
