I'm putting my 232 head bad together with new valve springs and valve seals. I noticed that the valve seals ride up and down the vale stem when it goes up and down. Am I doing something wrong? If not, how does this help? I am putting back on the way they came off with the cup down. I have another head off another 232 and the valves are cup down on it too and they are not at the bottom of the valve stem. They are all over, up and down the valve stem between the head and the top springer retainer washer. --- farna@xxxxxxx wrote: From: Frank Swygert <farna@xxxxxxx> To: Tgarner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Valve springs Date: Tue, 16 Apr 2013 20:22:26 -0400 No, all the springs are rated the same. The end that has the coils just a little closer together should be toward the head, that's the only note in the TSM concerning valve springs. I think you will find the paint on the close coil end. I would assume someone marked them at one time indicating intake and exhaust with different colors, but that's just a guess. Shouldn't hurt where they are. Do I need to put one or the other color on the intake and exhaust valves or does it matter? > > _____________________________________________________________ > Are you prepared for your exam > 4TestsMail - Free email you can access from anywhere! > http://www.4testsmail.com/ > _____________________________________________________________ Are you prepared for your exam 4TestsMail - Free email you can access from anywhere! http://www.4testsmail.com/ _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com
