Davis,Please explain alloy pump gears. Are the gears an alloy of steel? Where can they be purchased?
Thanks, ArmandP.S. I thought Dale's comments on AMC V8 were a bit uninformed. I've been surfing the AMC forums lately and many of the posters on there agree with Mr. Martin's experience with the AMC V8 not really needing the valley line. Some posters have stresses how important it is to make sure the drilled oiling passageways have been completed full drill size. I'm thinking many blocks got out of ht efactory with out beig drilled to the intended full size and therefore we have crank/rod bearing failures.

Wow! Whoever responded that winded response to Hal on the engine build, has never built an AMC v-8. And has not been around the AMC community much. Wow. AMC 360 block is too thin to add 4bolt mains. And check out the Indy alloy block. The video is good except the lifter valley line. I have never had to do thy in 25 years of racing amc's . The problem is in the pump. Alloy pump gears work much better. But that has just been my experience.D
