3M Di Noc is some great stuff as Rocky said. It's available on Ebay and as
Eddie stated Metro Restyling. Metro Restyling is on Ebay too. Shop there
and Amazon, I have ordered Di NOc through both venues, buying from
whichever one had the best deal. Di Noc is available in all sorts of
colors and styles. I used their glossy carbon fiber looking product to
recover the dash ovelay in the White Javelin. I read several posts on
different forums about Di Noc before deciding to go that route.
If you decide to go that route, I strongly suggest you try a small sample
of the wood grain material and any clear painting over it if you choose
that route. Several of the forums I read had experiences related where
clear coating Di Noc did not give the effect they thought it would. I am
also puzzled why those people chose to clear coat Di Noc anyway as it is
available in both glossy and matt finishes for many of their colors and
patterns.
The other thing you will want to know is use the primer that 3M recommends
for the Di Noc you choose. I used that product too and so far have been
very happy with the result. Word of caution, the adhesives on Di Noc and
the primer make for a very strong bond. You have one shot at getting
things located correctly. Much fore thought and planning was needed when I
put carbon fiber Di Noc on the dash overlay. I found that laying the Di
Noc on its face on the table, with only a small portion of the backer
sheet removed and then laying the aluminum dash overlay panel over that to
position it correctly worked by far the best. I then turned the panel over
so the finished surface of th eDi nOc was up and then reached in under the
Di Noc and slowly peeled off the backer and worked the Di Noc onto the
dash overlay. Once that stuff is stuck on the panel it does not want to
come off very easily. Read everything you can find about Di Noc, then do
the work, following the suggestions and tips will definitely help you.

I'm looking to replace the woodgrain vinyl strips on the door panels of
my 66 AMC Ambassador 990 convt. Over the years it has shrunk so I have a
gap that I cannot fix to cover the panel. While what I find looks like
contact paper, I'm unable to find a source that comes close to the color
and design in my car.
Any suggestions?
