Bruce, Just my S.02. The safety of your son is important and you would kick yourself forever if he was injured in a way you THOUGHT could have been prevented while driving the old Rambler. Sell that thing and get a Hornet, Concord, Eagle with high back seats and shoulder belts. You can always find another old Rambler. Mechanical parts for the Hornet family are cheaper, more readily available and drivline parts will be around forever thanks to Jeep.
