When you said the statement about the toyotas and the problems they had with run away engines, that got a chuckle from me. A chemists in the lab that I work crashed his car when it's engine decided to go into warp drive on its own. I asked him why did he not put the car into neutral and hit his brakes and pull off to the side of the road and try to shut off the ignition. He looked at me dumbfounded and said, I did not think you could but your car into neutral while moving. Da what, how dumb can you get.
