[AMC-list] aircleaner

I know this may seem smart ass but, I have never owned a AMC car that the first thing that 
I did when I got it was throw away the stock air cleaner . What good are they?  Also kids today are just as car crazy as we were, but with today's economy they go with what is cheap ( Japanese) car's. My son 22  is influenced by me and has a 360 Spirit AMX .  Hope this makes sense.
