Re: [AMC-list] AMC-list Digest, Vol 34, Issue 12

Please let's keep this site for AMC only. There are tons of other places to find Cutlass parts.

I have a 66 Rambler American (my first car), with a 232 6 cyl. 2 bbl engine with automatic transmission. I am customizing the car and?swapping?engines and no longer need this?one. It is the original engine and trans. ( the trans was rebuilt once.) Both work fine. they have around 85,000 miles on them. Vehicle was mostly garage kept and is still under a roof in Indiana. Anyone interested can contact me @ ITSMEBT@xxxxxxxx? Looking for offers.

If no one makes an offer, I'd be interested in the 2 barrel intake and
carb. I'm putting a '68 232 in my '65 American, but it has a one barrel
intake and carb.

Good deal on getting the help! I tried to let my boys be "school / sports" boys and only regret it when garage time rolls around...I followed my dad into the quagmire (sp?) and it was ten years of working in dealership shops always angry at that last tenth of an hour warranty would not pay. I try to let them work on their daily drivers as much as possible. Enough to show them if it is your love than go for it. ? One son graduates from WVU's school of mechanical engineering. The younger is trying to find his way through biology to a major that fits him. (he totally nailed a 4.0 his first semester) ----- Original Message -----

get the linkage too! it's different than the 1bbl setup - the
throttle shaft turns the opposite way. and the air cleaner is also
different.

but the late '70s [with married exhaust like the '60s] and '80s [with
separate exhaust] setups have more even fuel distribution [think
mileage], and if you want more power there are several carb options,
starting with rebuilding the amc carter bbd with a mopar v8 bbd base
[larger venturii and maybe throttle plates too] to the mopar factory
bbd replacement holley to motorcraft carbs to the weber to a holley
tbi...

add a recurved hei dist...

ps. '60s and '70s blocks have thick enough walls to bore .125" over
and use jeep 4.0 pistons. i've even met someone who did it with a
290!
