Most boats are made of fiberglass,  I'm guessing the foam is used for 
flotation, not corrosion protection.
My concern is trapped moisture that can't get out.
I'm gonna stick with using undercoatings to protect and seal, not foams.
The foams remind me of the ill informed homeowners who want to seal every 
little crack in the house,
so they use insulating foam (keyword insulating not crack seal) instead of 
the proper caulk, and then in two weeks the sun has deteriorated the foam 
and it turns to powder. Tacky at best.
Yes acetone will reduce most foams.
But hey you guys use what ever product you want to, it's your future rust 
bucket.
