With a three hole balancer, that dates the balancer to before AMC switched 
to a four hole balancer. When was that, 73??

Jesse,  have you had the pan off the block?

Does it have a full web at the main caps?

N   - 360 2bbl (also 290 up to 1969 but that doesn't work here)
added note to above statement, didn't Jesse say that the Wagoneer this 
engine is in is a 68 and was ordered with an AMC powertrain?
Could this be a 290 service block?
Did AMC do service blocks without casting displacements in 68 and 69 too?

Is it possible ths engine was an AMC "crate" engine, installed to replace a 
blown 68 engine? maybe it is a 71 401?? If the 68 engine was a 390 and AMC 
didn't have anymore 390 service blocks or engines for 68/69 replacements, 
the dealer may have swapped in a 71 401??

The engine tag says:

3   - 1970/79/83
02  - February
N   - 360 2bbl (also 290 up to 1969 but that doesn't work here)
18  - 18th day of Feb.

Some early 360s had 2 sizes of 2100.
