so '71 [and earlier] v8s -didn't- have a pilot hole in the crank?

'71 would've seen the last bw autos in amcs, '71 the switch to mopar
autos.

i was thinking '73 for cjs, which hadn't had v8 power before.  logical
that big jeeps would've replaced the buick 350 with native power asap.
