>From a good friend of mine, a Viet Nam era Marine Vet,,,, many put their
lives on the line and did not return so that we may enjoy it.
Bruce Hevner DC2
US Navy 70-74
I know I have sent this before, but I send it every Memorial weekend. We
must never forget all of those who made the ultimate sacrifice so we, and
others throughout the world, can be free. From the American revolution to
the current day war on terror, young men have gone into battle to fight for
freedom. Let us lift up to our Maker, the souls of those who did not return.

Friends To Be Remembered
I've got some friends to be remembered
Their names are etched upon a wall
They are there because they answered
Their country's duty call
Young lives that stay forever
As if in their natural prime
They'll stand always in my memory
Frozen in a place and time
There was John from Mississippi
And old Roy from Arkansas
Mike from New York City
And Bob hailed from near St. Paul
Each and every one of them
Believed their country right
They went to a foreign land
To take up freedom's fight
There they fought for others
And there they lay and died
Ever true and ever brave
With all their heart they tried
I've got some friends to be remembered
Their names are etched upon a wall
They are there because they answered
Their country's duty call
Young lives that stay forever
As if in their natural prime
They'll stand always in my memory
Frozen in a place and time
You know Jeff he came from Oregon
And Pierre the woods of Maine
Rob he lived in Ohio
And Zeb the Kansas plains
It mattered not from whence they came
Brothers all it seems
Fighting side by side
These young men we call Marines
There they fought for others
And there they lay and died
Ever true and ever brave
With all their heart they tried
I've got some friends to be remembered
Their names are etched upon a wall
They are there because they answered
Their country's duty call
Young lives that stay forever
As if in their natural prime
They'll stand always in my memory
Frozen in a place and time
You know these men, so young, so brave
For love of country, all they gave
For freedom's right, they took a stand
And shed their blood in a foreign land
My heart is filled with bursting pride
To know they fought there by my side
I know not why my name's not there
But for them all I truly care
I've got friends to be remembered
Their names are etched upon a wall
More than fifty thousand
Written on that cold black wall
Bless them all, bless them all
God bless them all
