Re: [AMC-list] Paint touch-up - Acrylic Enamel or Acrylic Urathane?

So you're going to be using a spray gun or a PreVal sprayer?   I'd vote that the
acrylic urethane is more durable, but for touchups any touch up paint
well applied should be OK.  Whatever sprayer you plan to use, I suggest that you
spray some test coupons or samples on primer sheet metal to get
confortable with the spray pattern and set up the gun if there are adjustable
settings.  Even with the PreVal (which I have but have never used) I'd recommend
that you get comfortable with it instead of using your Rambler as a test case.

Okay - I'm getting ready to touch up a few scratches and nicks on my
car. Nothing major. Doesn't look like any through holes, but does have
some minor spots. TCP Global has the Mystic Gold Poly in Acrylic
Enamel, Acrylic Urathane and Acrylic Lacquer. I'm thinking I should go
with Acrylic Urathane. Other folks touched up paint on your older cars
- is urathane the way to go? Is there a major difference between
"store-brand" and PPG for a driver that is parked in the driveway? Any
recommended primer?
