Why shouldnt I be entitled to get what I think I can get for my item? Thats what it is worth to me and if I can get it it must be worth that to someone else. Who's to tell me what I should get or pay for an item? Who says it assumes ownership of opinions except you forcing yours on people telling them their stuff is not worth what they think. That only matters if your a serious buyer. Then its your option to make an offer, or, NOT BUY. This is AMERICA right? If that saves someone from paying way too much for something, too bad. Hey its still BUYER BE WARE right? A smart buyer educates him or herself and I see nothing wrong with giving an opinion of somthings worth, a smart consumer reads between the lines and knkow what opinion really count.....Theirs! Censorship doesn't help anyone. WHo said anything about censorship? isnt telling people what they can ask for their item a type of just that? -- Marc _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com Davis Martin wrote: >Everyone sees things diferently. Sure. Just as when someone publicly asks for $XXXXX.XX for a $500 pig in a poke, well, it's a free country (OK, well, kinda, these days) and anyone is therfore free to ridicule such folly. Don't be jealouse cause they get it.....(obviously not many do) Its ok not to look at it and its ok to not continue reading the ad if your so turned off by it. >I bet most would have said a 74 Gremlin would >never sell for 15K A 6 cyl car even! But it did. Wonderful. There must have been something special about the car. I'd love to see photos and an official auction result. It was a nice 12K mile car. Was sold on ebay and I know the fellow that sold it. He is 2 towns over from me. Prove to me it didnt happen? I've seen dozens of very cherry Gremlins cross the block for a couple thousand, or less. Just as Old Cars Weekly http://www.oldcarsweekly.com/oldcarspriceguide/ is free to post values based on recent auction results, others are also free to offer opinions on value (or lack thereof). 20 years ago tell those hemi Cuda convertable owners that their cars were only worth what everyone SAYS they are worth. Heck would you have thought a Gremlin Grill would sell for 1200 bucks? >Its all in the deal between 2 people.? Just because its not what you >think it should be doesnt mean its not.? I look at it this way: No one is "entitled" to get what *he* thinks his item is worth on the market, because he doesn't **own** other people's opinions about what he owns. Things are only worth what the market -- a collection of individuals -- says they are worth. Other individuals are free to express their opinions, and if the buyer does appropriate research on the value of what he's considering buying, he should have access to all the opinions he wants. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
