The GM 2.8 flexplate is different from the Jeep 2.8 flexplate (different transmissions) Same with the rare 4 cyl AW4 trans (I found one in a junkyard that has been sitting on a shelf for 20 years and they STILL want $1000 for it!) Mopar used hydraulic 4 speed autos '88 to '92 then electronic '93 up (only the valve body controller) The 2.8 in my '86 MJ project (actually, my room mate's MJ now) was 5 speed. AX-5 with either NP207 or NP231.
