several yrs ago a round rock, texas cop did same to me. made a big Uturn on a 4 lane road in traffic to get this vile non-harness wearer. though once he ran the numbers and found out what a 68 AMX was, he said sorry and that it wasn't mandatory for this car, said he didn't know how old this thing was. he told me for quick checks they look for anything breaking the daylight between the driver and the door for the strap, so sometimes i just pull it over my shoulder to save the grief, then sometimes i ponder the steel steering wheel and my teeth and i connect it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Message: 1 Date: Sun, 9 Jan 2011 21:58:21 -0600 From: "Eddie Stakes" <eddiestakes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> The cops don't realize many of our old cars have lap belts and shoulder harness was optional and uncomfortable, they simply look for the "strap over chest" as in this case, and last time 20 years ago with my old 68 AMX Red Death which didn't HAVE shoulder harnesses in it (early build). -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
