Good to see though not all the six banger Javelins ended up parts cars for AMX. I know Marc (who strated this thread) has been trying to sell a good looking 71 Ambassador for awhile,
http://epage.com/js/mi/n0/1782082.htmlreasonable, and don't want someone to simply buy, yank engine and discard rest like som many have done thru decades with four door and wagons and well, six cylinder changeouts.
With that in mind here is a Christmas list of six cylinder Javelins that need homes. Wife Paige said we might be looking at $5 gallon of gas again next year (she works oilfield comnay here in Houston) so maybe good time to buy a six banger Javelin:
1968 Javelin http://newyork.craigslist.org/que/cto/2118804135.html I'm pretty sure this Javelin is also a six, note all the MOD package stuff on the 1968: http://jonesboro.craigslist.org/cto/2118954140.html 74 Javelin with six, note background nest of Javelins & AMXs http://knoxville.craigslist.org/cto/2106981278.html Good looking 73 Javelin, http://harrisburg.ebayclassifieds.com/classic-cars/northumberland/1973-amc-javelin-6cyl-auto/?ad=7763564 $920 bought this nice (my opinion) 72 Javelin with six: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180596629899 note original color under hood..... So hopefully some of those above will find homes, happy hunting, Eddie Stakes 713.464.8825 eddiestakes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx www.planethoustonamx.com----- Original Message ----- From: "Armand Eshleman" <aje1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Eddie Stakes" <eddiestakes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>; "AMC, Rambler, Nash,Jeep and family" <amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Eddie, There's a fella in Sioux Falls, SD who bought a humpster with a six in it. His kids drove it to college, etc. After that he restored the car and kept the six in it. He's won a room full of trohpies with it and did so at last years Moparama in Sioux Falls. He jokes about having Earl Shieb or Maaco paint the thing, saying it was full of orange peel, but he's washed, detailed, waxed, you know that stuff, it so much over the years that it's now a smooth shiny finish. There is a respectable following of AMC six builders around. The later versions respond to turbo chargers really well and make scads of horsepower and torque. I'm an AMC six fan too, I just don't have one. Most werebutcheredhaving a AMC or brand X V8 tossed in them thru decades or simply becauselittle or nointerest, became fodder parts car for AMXs unfortunately.
