Last weekend I winterized the Javelin. I changed the wheels to the winter wheels and tires and washed the summer wheels and tires. I like to put old tires under the car during the long idle season so I don't end up with flat spotted tires with the summer set. I toppped off the radiator with -40 solution antifreeze to make sure the wasn't any air against the tubes, corrosion seems to occur right at that spot and the tubes are always the thinnnest metal. Next I ran the engine and slowly poured Sea Foam into it until it quit then I plugged off the tailpipe and covered the carb with a plastic bag to keep air movement through the engine to zero. I'll rotate the engine by the belts several times during the long sleep to keep things good. Then I put the car cover on it and weighted it down with strips of carpet because some times I have to open the overhead door in a high wind and then the cover doesn't blow off. Winter sucks. I have plans for removing the axle and leaf springs through the winter, I''l put in the twin grip differential and de rust the outside of th eaxle and paint it black. I want to get new leaf springs for the car and install all that before spring. Hopefully I'll actually get this done. I'd really like to get the front lowered about two inches this winter to. Hope I feel good and get some motivation. Take care all.
