" From: Jim Blair <carnuck@xxxxxxxxxxx> " " " The carb intake won't work with MPFI but it will with TBI from a GM. As for harness, if you have a std trans or 9XX auto (or 727) you want one from an XJ with std trans. ('91 to '95 are the "best" years for simplicity for HO. The '87 - 90 Renix requires under dash wiring done for the computer which isn't weatherproof) " You want the 4.0L flywheel/flexplate IF you are using std trans or AW4. The 9xx and 727 will punch the converter pump with the AW4 plate. You can get a harmonic balancer CPS kit and run the Eagle stuff stock. The Eagle trans also doesn't have the hole for the CPS mount. (but it's doable) dave said he's running a 4sp, but -- what about a wrangler 4.0 - tf999/32rh setup? or bits thereof... the 999 is a version of the eagle's 998. if the motor mount issue isn't a problem, an entire late-wrangler 4.0 - 32re and computer should be swappable together. they all have a centered-fan belt setup also, where the xj doesn't. i wouldn't be surprised if the grand's 4.0 - 42rh/42re flexplate [and converter?] would work too. " I'm doing the XJ axle to Spirit swap (after bolting in an Eagle diff that turns out to be bad) Both the XJ shock mounts need reversing. It may be that different years are different too. that's interesting news. -afaik- all xj axles have the same shock setup. " The indexing of the Renix cam is more for bottom end power and better suited to an Eagle if the EGR is required for Etesting. the '80s 258 cam had about 256 deg duration 'on the ramps' [old skool]. 4.0 cams all have 270 deg up to '99/'00, when exhaust was narrowed back to the mid-250s with the #0331 dis head. ________________________________________________________________________ Andrew Hay the genius nature internet rambler is to see what all have seen adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and think what none thought _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com
