[AMC-list] Gremlin 3 speed treans questionb

Have someone looking for lockout plate and we are sending the whole transmission.  They are looking for a Borg Warner T14 3-speed trans.  How do we tell the difference.  Se read that the 75-76 uses a different one than 77-78 (larger).  Any details to look for to know for sure which is which?
 
Also, in shipping, can it be wrapped in cardboard and shipped?  Thanks for the help!
