I rely heavily on my 10 year old ute trailer. Similar ones run about $7-800. They save a crap load of wear and tear on my Jeeps interior. I know also they are a PIA to store park and backup. I am also at tire time. One went flat last Saturday and there were visible cracks in the side wall, so, yay, time for new tires! Yeah Tom, I think you already have the ute trailer. Just thinking out loud. You can also get some darned cool add on roof racks these days. If you get a wagon with the factory rack you can add a clamp on rack that will haul a few 4 x 8 sheets without much hassle at all. Tom, I just checked my American it it has about 40" between the wheel wells. Full size GM wagons from the late 70's through late 80's (when they were all big boxes) will hold a 4' x 8' sheet of plywood with the tailgate closed. Dad used one of those to haul drywall (and 2 x 4's and all fort of other stuff) when he finished the basement in the house we were in at the time.
