Sorry about that I hit reply all as I know you mostly read the list v via the web. I hope to save these pistons to clean and swap 4bbl pistons into the 2bbl low mile Jeep motor. I also have another dilemma. I want to build the conv to be both a fair weather cruiser and a tow rig for the boat so I can not have to do it with my Jeep, maybe go back to a smaller jeep or since kid number two will be moving out soon I might try to score a Comanche from outside of rustville. My dilemma is while moving the Torque tube rear from the 990H I have discovered it is a Twin grip as even with the drive shaft out of the tube it scrubs tires when trying to turn a corner. When I propped it up on the boat trailer I also noted the twin grip tag/washer still in place. So I suspect I have a 3:15 twin grip. But not sure the M8 is something I want in a tow rig.. Ah well I will have plenty of time to ponder this. Russ, if you were nearby I have a 287 I don't need, (I hope) ------Original Message------ From: das24rules@xxxxxxxxx Sender: amc-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx To: amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx ReplyTo: das24rules@xxxxxxxxx ReplyTo: AMC, Rambler, Nash,Jeep and family Subject: Re: [AMC-list] seized pistons/was wench. Sent: Aug 6, 2010 9:34 PM sorry folks, i got this message off list, and didnt realize it was on list also. i used atf/diesel mix. cam was lockedup also, so i had to pull the crank out. took a week or so of soaking, then a block of wood just barely fitting into the cylinder. 8lb dead blow hammer, and once they broke free, was just slowly working them out. dave stohler www.picasaweb.google.com/das24rules _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device from U.S. Cellular _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com
