I plugged the old choke stove hole with a chunk of brass rod. http://wps.com/AMC/195.6OHV/Exhaust/ scroll to the bottom. Now, I was able to taper the hole with a reamer, but you could taper the brass instead by chucking 2" of it in a drill press, tapering it with a file, then hacksaw off the piece that fits. I drilled it half way through so that a punch would spread and lock it. Cheap fast and easy. You could probably use something other than brass.
