...and I thought the resistir was to keep the (stock)coil from overheating when running. The resistor is bypassed when starting to get full spark but it can'thandle 12volts all the time. Ken Quoting das24rules@xxxxxxxxx:i thought the ballast resistor was for the coil power draw. i was always told when you convert to electronic (pertornix, msd ect) the resister can gobecause the coil isnt pulling power from the points anymore. the electronic box is powering the coil. but hey, i dunno. i got a pertronix on the orderedlist. along with the rest of the parts for my aluminum 196. dave stohler www.picasaweb.google.com/das24rules _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com_______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com
