What do you really need" they stretched the input on the T5 in 93 to move the engine forward (dumb ass idea IMHO). That gives you length for handy dandy adapter kits :). You won't break a T5 with a 196. Piece of cake to work on too. You have any twin stick shifter bodies arms. Just the piece you see in the car. I reworked a fraud but it don't yank my crank. The AX-5 while attractive for smaller six cyl projects like mine, has a non-AMC input shaft, since the 2.5L has a GM rear pattern and all that. I'm pretty much narrowed down to pre-64 AMCs with sixes, which pleases me greatly -- the major downside is there are NO transmission choice, the one automatic, T-96 with and without OD, and the T-14 with a custom driveshaft.
