Armand, Rick Jones, who just built that budget 360 stroker, has a nicely built 390, that's at 401-cid now. It's for sale and has the crank modifications to run it with ANY tranny (727, TH400, etc) ... not just the older BW's or a stick. Rick can be contacted at ajones8@xxxxxxx if you'd like to chat with him about it. Here's a copy of an email he sent me on the engine specs ... Here is the description of the engine that I have for sale. 401 Engine Completely rebuilt with new cast pistons, new rings, bearings etc. ARP rod bolts. Actually, this is a ’69 390 with .060” over bore. Crank is machined to accept any transmission. Balanced engine with 727 flex plate. Clevite Cam .488 lift 294 duration (218 @ ,050). New valves & springs, New water pump, New Carter Super Pump (looks like stock), internal oil line modification, New oil pump zero clearanced 65 psi oil pressure, New Double roller T/chain, New distributor gear, New Torker intake. ’72 dog leg heads w/ 3 angle valve job. 9.5:1 compression ratio. Can hear run on a starting stand. $3500.00 exchange or $4000.00 out the door. DOES NOT come with a distributor, carburetor, alternator brkts. Was built for a guy with a CJ, to play in the sand with the Chevys, who didn't come through. Rick Jones 734-735-6060 I also have another 390 in the machine shop to be machined if you don't care for the above combo. This one will be a +0.040" over bore with cast pistons as well. I can put what ever cam, intake and heads that you want. (with the exception of '70 high compression heads).
