[AMC-list] mirror removal

Does anyone know if there is a special tool to take the screws out  
that hold the glass in an exterior mirror head? I have tried a few  
different things but not luck. The mirror glass is still good I just  
need to take it out because  I am having it repainted so I need to  
remove the glass then put it back after the head is painted.
