thats really not true anymore about the oils and all not mixing between 134 and r12. i have done it several times witout changing the drier. the early oils in 134 wouldnt mix with r12. the new stuff mixes just fine. all that is needed to be done, propperly remove all the old r12. get the cleaner run thru your system, put in a few ounces of pag oil, and get the adapter plugs that are sold at most all auto parts store, and charge. the 134 stuff you can buy off the shelf. get the gauge system and charge it yourself. the 134 seems to work better at a little lower pressure than the old r12. in my old frod pick-em-up it sure did anyway. in elpaso summers, that a/c couldnt be on high, it would freeze you out of the truck. thats one of the rigs i did thaton.
