Over the years I think every plastic line failed. Usually making a horrendous mess. Never did any engine damage though. Mine is electric now. Though I do trust the mechanicals slightly more ------Original Message------ From: Frank Swygert Sender: amc-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx To: amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx ReplyTo: AMC, Rambler, Nash, Jeep and family Subject: Re: [AMC-list] Simple Pleasures or utter frustration.... Sent: Mar 21, 2010 3:29 PM Yeah, mine cracked under the dash -- nice mess! Has a soft copper line now. Just be careful about running it through the firewall -- use a rubber grommet! The copper can vibrate against a metal edge and wear through to. The plastic line in mine split, didn't wear a hole through. It was 5-6 years old. Never had a copper line fail, but I always have a small loop in it near the sender so it can easily give without strain -- did that with the plastic line too. --------- Date: Sun, 21 Mar 2010 18:32:30 +0000 From: wrambler242@xxxxxxxxxxx Dave. I hope you go with no plastic tubing. I've seen way to much of that crap fail! -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AMC.html (free download available!) _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device from U.S. Cellular _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com
