What I found most interesting in the article was this statement: "In 2011, the automaker will mark the 70th anniversary of the Wrangler's production with a new powertrain and special anniversary models." Return of the 4.0L? Many Jeep enthusiasts have complained about the 3.7L V-6. If not another I-6 then it may be a bigger, better V-6 or maybe even a small V-8. I could see a 4.7L OHC V-8 in the four door versions, might be a bit much for the short ones though. I also saw in Motor Trend that there might be a pickup version of the Wrangler. They had spy photos of a four door Wrangler with metal panels where the rear doors were and a long hardtop. I'd hope they cut the body off and make a separate bed like the old CJ-10 made in South America. But if not a unit-body similar to the CJ-8 Scrambler would be okay -- just less than ideal. As long as there's a welded in divider between passenger and cargo bed anyway, and a flat cargo bed. I'd make the truck a hard top only. Sort of like the old Scout Terra. ------------ Date: Thu, 18 Mar 2010 08:44:05 -0700 (PDT) From: Greg Taylor <amundaza@xxxxxxxxx> There is an article in the Toledo Blade about a possibility of converting the old Jeep plant site into an ORV park. http://www.toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100215/BUSINESS02/2150301/0/NEWS04 -- Frank SwygertPublisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC)
