Yep, I have Mustang tailpipes on my '69 Jav; can't verify the year, but that 
range sounds about right.  If I remember correctly, I think I needed to 
tweak the flange on the gas tank just a bit, on the driver's side, where the 
pipe slips through the frame and shock absorber and gas tank.  Or something 
like that.

Anyhoo, they fit and look good (IMHO as the owner).  See 2nd pic:
