Yeah that sounds like true acrylic enamel single stage. Metallic would not at color sand well and likely show differences anywhere you change the depth of the paint and or break through to another layer. I have Montana brand fleet white on my American it shines and holds up pretty good. It is not a true two part paint. You can shoot the enamel straight with just reducer. The hardener just acts as Viagra for paint. You will also only have a fairly short 48-72 hour or so window to sand and buff. After that point the paint does not want to buff. Sand scratches are very hard and sometimes impossible to remove. ------Original Message------ From: das24rules@xxxxxxxxx Sender: amc-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx To: amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx ReplyTo: das24rules@xxxxxxxxx ReplyTo: AMC, Rambler, Nash,Jeep and family Subject: [AMC-list] calias coral metalic paint Sent: Feb 27, 2010 7:03 PM i want to paint rosie back the original coral metalic/white. i dont know much about what kind of paint is best and the differences. i found "tcp global" website that lists an acrylic enamal in that color. looks like hardner, paint and thinner will be about $177. how tough is acrylic enamal? is that the stuff you dont have to put a clear coat on? i want it to SHINE. anyone have any suggestions? i will paint it myself, i just need to find somewhere to get decent paint, for decent price. im not sure on all the different types of paint out there. _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device from U.S. Cellular _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com
