There are 3 spring clips on the front and rear edges that have to be pried out. I've used just a large screwdriver with success. I think you're best to be as close to the bottom of each clip to avoid popping the panel off the clip. 4 screws along the bottom, and with the handles undone, it should lift up to unhook the top from the door and be off. : ) (I'm assuming 70s-80s G-H-S-C-E car here.)
