Acetone/atf in. 50/50 mix on the lifters. Yes they are hydraulic and the same as the 232 AFAIK. FINALLY got the 2 froze pistons out. i dont think they are any good anymore. LOL. i got another set anyway. the lifters are froze. i got the cam to make about 1/2 a revolution, but i have a few froze lifters. i can slide the cam out a little, but lifters arent moved quite enough. any ideas? they are soaking in pb blaster overnight. i can not beleive how much lighter that block is than the cast iron. theres probably 100 lbs difference. that block only weighs about 50lbs max. are those lifters specific to that motor, or are they the same as the later 199/232? i hope same as later. what about cams. how different is the cast iron cam with solid lifters, than the hydraulics in the aluminum motor? i think the aluminum is hydraulic anyway. they look it. i did a quick hone job on the cylinders. they look GREAT. no pitting, or lip where the 2 pistons were froze. the oil pump gear has a few teeth broke on it. would the drive gear on the cast iron probably be the same? if so, i will just swap the pump gears. that motor was NASTY. it got pressure washed inside and out. looks like aluminum again instead of a heap of oil/dirt. get this cam and lifters out so i can send it to the old school machine shop here. _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com
