The 1bbl carb may be simple, but it sucked for fuel economy on every 6 cyl I've ever had! I made 2 bbl adapters for pretty much every inline 6 cyl I had since I had a '61ish P30 van (actually mini bus) with a 292 and factory 2 bbl carb with 4 speed that got 20 mpg. My '66 Nova with 194 only got 14 at it's best, so I swapped in a 2 bbl from a 283 and got 25 mpg from it. I did a Carter BBD on my 230 in my '65 Belair and got 20 mpg, even though I did a bit of drag racing with it (first car I ran NO2 on) I have done the 2 bbl swap on many AMCs and Jeeps too (my son had just completed the swap on the '76 DJ 232 he had before going back to Canada, but didn't get a chance to enjoy it) Jim Blair, Lynnwood, WA '87 Comanche, '83 Jeep J10, '84 Jeep J10 From: adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (Sandwich Maker) To: amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [AMC-list] Carter WCD base pattern Message-ID: <201002012032.o11KWbR06447@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> " From: Frank Swygert <farna@xxxxxxx> " " " What carb did the Ford 200/250 use?
