this is a v8 car i presume? the rear is an amc20 and in addition to
amc cars can also be found in jeeps '76-'86, so rear gears and posi
diffs are easy to come by. btw the original hummer [mil hmmwv] also
has amc20s f&r. make sure the hub nuts on the axle ends are tight!
300 [not a misprint] ft-lbs - you'll have to translate to metric.
back them off then torque to spec.

btw and fyi, 6-cyl rebels could have a lighter amc15 rear which lived
on in the jeep dana35, so diffs and gears are also common - though i'm
not absolutely sure d35 pinions fit '60s amc15 housings properly.

someone did have a gmc 6-71 super kit for amc v8s but it's been some
time since i've heard of it...

no super kits - or much speed stuff at all - for the amc 6, but if you
have an auto you can't do too much anyways; the bw35 family doesn't
have a lot of headroom, though i understand it was used widely over
there and if anyone would know how to beef it up your lot would.

the jeep 4.0 is an evo of the amc 6, and pre-'99 blocks at least are
just about a drop-in. like '72-up amc sixes they have the amc v8
bellhousing pattern and not the smaller, earlier six pattern, but i'd
take the jeep tranny with it if you can find a 2wd version. there's a
fair amount of speed stuff for this motor and it makes a pile more hp
right off.
