I used pistons rom a sb Chebby 400. I dont know all the numbers but my machinist at my local ngine shop, said the compresion height was the same and the only machining eeded was increasing the pin dia. Then matching the bore dia. to the Chebby ize. He said I had enough block left to go to the next overbore size bigger. I ave used Them in 2 of my 401's AMC part, and they have been fine. I'd buy them, ood price and less machine shop cost. ------------- next part -------------- n HTML attachment was scrubbed... I've seen the steering box mounts tear ut of Americans with rust in that area. Usually six cylinder cars with leaky batteries. There is no reason you can't repair it though. Just needs to be done right. ou are going the right way by looking for a rail to replace it. I'd go to AJ at outh Texas AMC. He probably has a nice rust free rail. The AMC vendors should have the rockers as they have been repro'd. -----Original Message------ rom: Rocky Lear ender: amc-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx o: AMC/Rambler owners, drivers and fans. eplyTo: AMC, Rambler, Nash, Jeep and family ubject: [AMC-list] Rockers needed for 67 Rogue ent: Dec 12, 2009 7:08 PM Is there any place reproducing these? Distribs can be screwed up adly and it "runs OK" but overheats (not enough ignition lead) or eats istons (too much ignition lead). Dead stock, low compression, lazy amshafts, etc all that old factory stuff minimizes ignition timing ensitivity. Start hopping it up and it gets all touchy. Computerized management of this stuff is what's revolutionized engines and et factories sell 500hp motors that meet/beat smog and drink crap gas! Good computerization is like having Smokey Yunick under the hood24/7. Having purchased the atador, having the cj8, never titled or driven, I feel that the electric ar belongs to a special place. I am rebuilding my garage which was toasted ,lost everything, but I have a fear of the responsibility of this car, nce you experience a fire, you do loose some peace of mind,,with that fear, am wondering where it should be placed. I am not concerned about money, t is the history that is more important. o those on the list, if you have idea's, I judge non, only welcome ideas n how this car should be protected arry In Minn ------------------------------ _______________________________________________ MC-list mailing list MC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx ttp://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com nd of AMC-list Digest, Vol 9, Issue 17 ************************************** -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
