[AMC-list] Wheel Choices

Does anyone know if there is any reason why Jeep 4.5" bolt circle wheels (such as a set from a Jeep Compass) couldn't be used on AMC passenger cars?

The following allegedly have 4.5" bolt circles:

5 x 4.5 (same as 5 x 114.3)

Jeep

1984-1998 Grand Cherokee
1983-1993 Grand Wagoneer
1983-2000 Cherokee
1980-1992 Comanche
1980-2006 Wrangler / CJ
2002-2009 Liberty
2007-2009 Compass
